Age as at Saturday 30th August 2025.
The qualifying period is from 1st August 2024 – 18th August 2025.
The qualifying times are 25m Short Course times. Qualifying times swum in pools other than 25m pools must be converted using the SNZ Conversions.
This event is open to approved and unapproved times with all times required to be on the SNZ Database.
Non-members of SNZ can enter (but we encourage you to register with a club, as you must still meet all of the qualifying criteria). A results file must be submitted along with your entry. The qualifying time must have been achieved at a school or interschool swimming competition. Time trails are not accepted.
This event is open to swimmers who have a disability which leads to a loss of physical, vision, hearing, intellectual disability or other which disadvantages them to compete alongside their non-disabled peers.
With this concept, the focus is on achieving personal bests and encouraging activity. The extent of the swimmer’s disability (and Para swimming eligible impairment type) is irrelevant, so long as there is a disability of some sort which disadvantages them to some extent.
Place getters will be allocated based on who touches the wall first regardless of disability type or extent.
Although there are no qualifying times for disabled swimmers, the swimmer must be capable to swim their entered races.
Events being offered for swimmers with a disability at the Zespri AIMS Games in 2024 are:
Multiclass swimmers should complete the manual entry form if they have not met the qualifying times. Entries must include times for each event the multiclass athlete wants to swim.
The organising committee reserves the right to amend the session times depending on registration numbers and venue capacity.
